Design and Operation

The quarter-turn manual mechanism moves the floating ball between fully open and fully closed positions. The full-bore, straight-through configuration is intended to limit flow-path restriction when open. This stock configuration should be selected for isolation service; throttling duty requires a separate review of seat wear, velocity and operating frequency.

Media and Service Limits

The stock record lists water, steam and oil as applicable media and a maximum operating temperature of 150 C.
